Solutions
To focus on objectively identifying, evaluating, and implementing successful and scalable treatment options.
Who matters in Global Brain Fog Solutions?
We all do. There is a rising interest and concern in subjective complaints around “brain fog.” However, subtle brain fog symptoms are rarely detectable, quantifiable, and most importantly, linked with possible pro-active treatments and therapies.
The vision of Global Brain Fog Solutions is to change this through evidence-based curation of clinical and technology innovations. Whether you are experiencing brain fog, caring for individuals who report it, or innovating potential evaluations and treatments, this initiative intends to coordinate a global response for us all.
Studies
Multiple studies will be conducted with the initial being Brain Fog Study 1 (BF1), the inaugural Global Brain Fog Solutions study begins Fall 2021. Future Brain Fog Studies are in planning to continue finding and curating innovative solutions.

Mitigating Long-Term Covid-19 Consequences on Brain Health
Ryan C. N. D’Arcy, Jagdeep K. Sandhu, Shawn Marshall and Markus Besemann
Covid-19 is increasingly being linked to brain health impacts. The emerging situation is consistent with evidence of immunological injury to the brain, which has been described as a resulting “brain fog.” The situation need not be medicalized but rather clinically managed in terms of improving resilience for an over-stressed nervous system…
Brain Vital Signs in Elite Ice Hockey: Towards Characterizing Objective and Specific Neurophysiological Reference Values for Concussion Management
Frederick R. Carrick, Guido Pagnacco, Sergio F. Azzolino4, Melissa Hunfalvay, Elena Oggero, Tory Frizzell, Christopher J. Smith7, Gabriela Pawlowski, Natasha K. J. Campbell, Shaun D. Fickling, Bimal Lakhani and Ryan C. N. D’Arcy
Prior Concussion studies have shown that objective neurophysiological measures are sensitive to detecting concussive and subconcussive impairments in youth ice-hockey. These studies monitored brain vital signs at rink-side using a within-subjects design to demonstrate significant changes from pre-season baseline scans. However…
Subconcussive brain vital signs changes predict head-impact exposure in ice hockey players
Shaun D Fickling, Aynsley M Smith, Michael J Stuart, David W Dodick, Kyle Farrell, Sara C Pender, Ryan C N D’Arcy
The brain vital signs framework is a portable, objective, neurophysiological evaluation of brain function at point-of-care. We investigated brain vital signs at pre- and post-season for age 14 or under (Bantam) and age 16–20 (Junior-A) male ice hockey players to (i) further investigate previously published brain vital sign results showing subconcussive cognitive deficits…
